On the Floor – Max Graef b2b Glenn Astro at Spring Attitude

Max Graef and Glenn Astro might have grown up in Berlin, but there’s nothing particularly techno about their music. Walking the line between funk, soul, jazz, hip hop, house and disco, their dusty, MPC-driven productions are clearly the work of heads who’ve spent their lives pouring through old records and sampling all of the best bits. Associates of Oye Records – the Prenzlauer Berg shop is essentially their second home and they also play a role in its in-house Box Aus Holz label – they really came to public attention with their funk-filled, genre-hopping LP, Dog, in 2015. The album was released by Money $ex Records, the label headed up by Graef and Glenn Astro alongside partner Delfonic. They're also keen studio partners, and the duo have collaborated on both the inaugural Money $ex release and their LP for Ninja Tune, The Yard Work Simulator.
