Born and bred in South London, Maleek was influenced by iconic R&B and soul acts like Michael Jackson, Jodeci, Boyz II Men and Tevin Campbell. He sang in church and subsequently formed a group with two of his friends where he honed his performance, writing and production skills. His *Last Daze of Summer* EP won him global success, with more than 50 million streams of the underground hit *Kontrol*.
