Like most dancehall artists, Konshens’ story originates in Kingston, Jamaica. Born Garfield Spence, he formed the group Sons of Jah with his older brother Delus, and began releasing music in 2005. The duo’s very first single, “Pon Di Corner,” was a cult hit in Japan and was instrumental in putting dancehall on the map globally. Branching out on his own in 2008, he released countless hits such as "Winner," "Gal a Bubble," "Pull Up To Mi Bumper" and "Bruk Off Yuh Back,” his biggest hit to date. Even while making moves abroad, Konshens is fully focused on elevating the music of Jamaica and bringing dancehall to its rightful prominence within the global music sphere.
