Kenji Takimi is a true pioneer of the global disco scene, and his label Crue-l Records has been at the forefront of tripped-out Japanese dancefloors since its inception over 20 years ago. Kenji Takimi was one of the first Japanese DJs to collaborate with DJ Harvey and the Idjut Boys and is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in the Japanese underground scene. You might well have heard Kenji delivering bumping psych disco under his Crue-l Grand Orchestra, Luger E-Go, and Being Borings aliases, or turning out remixes for artists such as Cornelius, A Mountain of One, and Dimitri From Paris and many more. As a DJ, Kenji has rocked the decks home and abroad alongside Andrew Weatherall, DJ Harvey, Theo Parrish, Rub 'n Tug, Idjut Boys, and Optimo, and always manages to steer the good ship disco into deep and uncharted waters.
