On the Floor – Honey Soundsystem vs. Wrecked at Trade Show

Honey Soundsystem are a San Francisco quartet of DJs and promoters – Jacob Sperber, Jason Kendig and Robert Yang and Josh Cheon, who also runs the Dark Entries label – who began throwing parties in 2007. Combining electronic dancefloor hedonism with thoughtful design concepts, Honey Soundsystem translate their ideas about raves as integral to the gay community – what Italo disco-loving Yang’s describes as “a shared love for fun spaces, amazing ambience and exceptional musical programming.” Over the last decade, this balance of edge and ambition has made Honey Soundsystem one of the most respected dance parties in the US today.

Based in New York City, *Wrecked* is a gay party helmed by resident DJs Ryan Smith and Ron Like Hell, the former a record store employee and the latter a veteran of the dance music scene, whipping up an erotic showdown every time they get behind the decks together.
