Helikonia is a Colombian-born, US-raised DJ who currently lives in Los Angeles. Growing up immersed in salsa, merengue, ballenatos, and reggaeton, she’s brought these sounds into her present – playing classics out with contemporary hits from genres like perreo, cumbia, and baile funk, and infusing them with futuristic electronic styles like trance and rap. Through her DJing, Helikonia heads up the LA branch of Intersessions, an artist-run workshop and seminar series that focuses on bringing more women, LGBTQ and people of colour into DJing and production.
