Description
Genesis Breyer P-Orridge is a true pioneer of abrasive performance art and experimental music. A founding member of the COUM Transmissions collective as well as trailblazing industrial outfits Throbbing Gristle and Psychic TV, s/he played an essential role in establishing the industrial pop aesthetic. Besides music and poetry, Genesis is arguably best known for an uncompromisingly radical entanglement of art and life. Inspired by Burroughs’ and Gysin’s Cut-Up technique, Genesis and h/er second wife Lady Jaye Breyer embarked on the *Pandrogyne Project* which included multiple physical modifications, only stopped by Jaye’s untimely death in 2007.
Alongside his partners Nate Young and John Olson as Wolf Eyes, Aaron Dilloway and his peers have been firing out powerful statements of dissidence and intent since 1996. Originally the solo project of Nate Young, the process really reached critical mass with the addition of Aaron Dillaway and John Olson a few years later.
