On the Floor – Erol Alkan b2b Boys Noize: To The Rhythm at XOYO

The Phantasy label head takes over at XOYO for Friday nights, with his To The Rhythm residency. For the eighth week, Alkan teams up with long-time brother in music, Boys Noize, for an evening of acid house and raw jacking jams that harken back to the early days when Boys Noize would mail Alkan his BNR vinyl test pressings. The To The Rhythm residency continues until September 29.

Despite Alkan’s reputation as one of the world’s foremost remixers, it was his own *Illumination* EP that showed him to be the artist that many already knew he was, operating between musical worlds and delivering a shimmering, melancholy anthem in “A Hold On Love.” Through his label Phantasy, Alkan’s creative vision has borne fruit in the music of others. Since 2007, he’s released music from Daniel Avery, Connan Mockasin, Ghost Culture, Babe Terror and Tom Rowlands of the Chemical Brothers, as well as his own tracks.
