Description
One of the first generation DJs in the Los Angeles proto-rap and electro scene, most closely alongside Rene “Sir Jam” Williams, David “Dr. Funkenstein” Storms was part of a groundbreaking musical and cultural movement on the West Coast in the late ’80s – early ’90s. Blending old school hip-hop with raw electro and early techno beats, with high-energy vocals and bumping basslines, Dr. Funkenstein played a key role in shaping Uncle Jamm’s Army - the pioneering party that went from high school dances to massive stadiums, and birthed a whole new sound and attitude that’s impacted Los Angeles ever since.
