When it comes to Detroit house music, DJ Minx is the real deal. Often hailed as the city’s “First Lady of Wax,” her visit to Detroit’s fabled Music Institute club that inspired her to get behind the decks. But it was her residency at Hamtramck’s famed Club Motor and her time as the host of Deep Space Radio on WGPR that truly put her on the map, not just in Detroit but around the world. As the founder of the long-running, all-female DJ collective Women On Wax, she acts as a source of inspiration and mentor to up-and-coming DJs. Her set at Movement from 2014 showcases her deep passion and knowledge of house music.
