Grabbing more than 150 million people’s attention on YouTube with her "Queen’s Speech" freestyles, Lady Leshurr has become one of the most engaging and open artists in Britain.
She’s won fans in global hip-hop heavyweights like Timbaland, Erykah Badu and Busta Rhymes with her often playful lyricism and presence. Growing up with reggae being played by her mother alongside the drum & bass and UKG of her brother, Leshurr takes us through her musical exposure and education in Kingshurst, Birmingham.
We visit the youth centre where she began to play records, the studio where she rubbed shoulders with some of the city’s rap royalty and the famous train station where hard decisions had to be made so she could further her career.
