Description
From Orlando via Miami to Atlanta, DJ Magic Mike chops it up with his oldest comrade in the game of bass music, MC Shy D. Although Shy D was born in the Bronx (he’s actually Afrika Bambaataa's cousin!), he was the first king of Atlanta rap, creating countless ATL classics like “Gotta Be Tough,” “Rapp Will Never Die” and “It’s Just My Caddy,” and introducing the world to the talents of DJ Toomp. Today, MC Shy D is best known for his sparse, bass-heavy singles on Uncle Luke’s Skyywalker Records. For this special episode of Miami Bass Chronicles, Mike called up Shy to reminisce about the heydays of the Miami Bass and Atlanta rap axis.
