Roman Flügel is committed. Not to one style, but to electronic music itself. Whether with his long-term collaborator Jörn Elling Wuttke or under one of his various monikers, Flügel is like a chameleon: You get his ambient or folky side on one day, Sensorama’s abysmal house music the next or else quirky big-room anthems via Alter Ego’s “Rocker” or “Geht’s Noch?" Flügel co-ran the Klang Elektronik-Playhouse-Ongaku label; has released music on Ladomat, Source, Cocoon, Harthouse, Turbo and R&S; and has crafted an impressive string of remixes for Primal Scream, the Human League and Baby Ford, to name but a few. His first album under his own name for Hamburg’s Dial imprint, *Fatty Folders*, was smart and clever, soft and hard, caring and witty, all at the same time. He’s hit a stride worthy of a marathon runner – firing off another two LPs for Dial as well as a succession of 12“s that would turn any evening out.
