Ikram Bouloum and Isamit Morales are researchers and visual artists by day and DJs by night under the name NYEM, short for "Not Your Exotic Monkey." Their aim is to create a space that observes, studies, interrogates and reinterprets the narratives around musical genres that are considered to be “marginal.” A common thread in their DJing style is a nontraditional attitude towards genre – in this session expect to hear everything from kuduro, tuki, reggaeton, dancehall, dembow and even the darkest electronica.
