Akiko Kiyama is a Tokyo-based producer who over the last decade and a half has released a handful of albums and EPs on various reputable techno labels. Her 2008 debut album *7 Years* belongs to the canon of Japanese minimal techno; after a stint in Berlin, she returned to her hometown and launched the label Kebko Music in 2015. With her own label and her new moniker Aalko, she's expanded her musical output to more experimental and broken electronic sounds, as demonstrated on her EP *No Man Is An Island*. In this session, she makes her MUTEK debut with a new live piece, which premiered at the Tokyo edition back in November.
