Torn Hawk is Luke Wyatt – it's one or the other, not "Lucas" and definitely not "Torn," please – and since his first 12" appeared on L.I.E.S. during the label's legendary 2012 run, he's been one of the imprint's most intriguing regulars. His sound is of a piece with techno, but also with noise, rock, film music and experimental composition, and once you familiarize yourself with it, you'll find it harder and harder to compare it to much else. His latest album and first L.I.E.S. release in half a decade, _Time Is a Scam_, has just landed, and to mark the occasion, label manager Entro Senestre invited him into our NYC studio for this month's broadcast. Luke mans the controls and plays entirely from his L.I.E.S. back catalog, while spending some time on the mic delving into his unique perspective, musical and otherwise.
