Before Clark Price and collaborators Aaron Clark and George d’Adhemar started Honcho in 2012, the idea of a raging gay party centered around house and techno was practically unthinkable. “Not in Pittsburgh, anyway,” he told *Resident Advisor* in 2016. Now, Price is at the center of a lively local scene, in a city – his hometown – that’s increasingly visible as a dance music center both nationally and internationally. Price is known for playing up the techno side of things at Hot Mass, the bath house that Honcho calls home once a month, but his tastes are varied, resulting in DJ sets that don’t fit neatly into any one category. His guest mix for Honey Soundsystem’s broadcast this month is the perfect example, zigzagging from Moodymann to A Guy Called Gerald, with sprinkles of disco, Latin percussion and the psychedelic tying it together.
