Formed and based in the breezy and sunny climes of Santa Monica, California, hip-hop trio Warm Brew – AKA Manu Li, Serk Spliff and Ray Wright – released their debut release, *Diagnosis*, in the summer of 2016. More specifically, they’re from Venice Beach, that famous strip of Californian coast, known for its hippies and subcultural bursts of madness, that sprung out just as much thrash punk and hardcore as it did killer rap and hip-hop. But Warm Brew feel at home, stirring the weird and the familiar together in a quintessentially Californian way. Their sound is a kaleidoscopic look at West Coast rap and hip-hop, drawing from the g-funk canon, but with a forward-thinking eclecticism that makes them a unique prospect for Venice Beach, and the wider hip-hop community.
