Hailing from Houston, Texas, Trae Tha Truth is a rapper and producer who came up in the late ’90s with his formidable southern rap flow. He's known as part of rap groups Guerilla Maab and Screwed Up Click, and is part of the duo AB; he's released over two dozen full-length solo albums since the early ’00s. In recent years, he’s become a figure of positivity and change in Houston – when the devastation of Hurricane Harvey hit the city, and after Trae had to be rescued from his home by strangers, he drove his boat around the flooded city to rescue others. In response to the US government’s delayed aid relief, Trae created the Relief Gang with Houston DJ Mr. Rogers, which is working to repair the city’s damaged infrastructure. In 2018, he released two albums – _48 Hours Later_ and _Hometown Hero_ — exploring the themes of Houston’s survival through the lens of bumpin’, gut-punchin' southern rap.
