Headphone Highlights – Sanfuentes: Electronic Music from Chile

Vicente Sanfuentes is a Grammy- and MTV Award-winning producer and DJ, cofounder of the Cómeme label and founder of his own label, Sanfuentes. He released several records under the Original Hamster and Hermanos Brothers monikers before he broke through in his native Chile and beyond as part of Surtek Collective, the explosive, German-Chilean one-two punch of himself and Uwe Schmidt (AKA Señor Coconut, AKA Atom TM), who married Teutonian electronics to the rhythm of Latin American music. After a hiatus spent on their various other projects, in 2012 Surtek Collective resurfaced with an EP on Boysnoize Records, _Shari/Vari_. Alongside his collaborative projects, Sanfuentes has produced music for artists such as Matías Aguayo, Daniel Maloso, Rebolledo and Christian S, and put out his own material for his label, such as his most recent endeavor, _Visiones_.
