Before he was Boys Noize, Alex Ridha was Kid Alex, putting out EPs and DJing for Felix da Housecat in his tender teenage years. At age 21 he moved from his hometown of Hamburg to Berlin, where he began Boysnoize Records in 2005. After establishing a signature industrial crunch with his debut LP *Oi Oi Oi* in 2007, Ridha collaborated with Skrillex as Dog Blood and with Chilly Gonzales as Octave Minds, plus he's worked with ASAP Rocky, Lady Gaga, Snoop Dogg, Scissor Sisters and many more. Ridha is a versatile producer, drawing as much from the dank, dark warehouses of electro and EBM as Bronx boombox-rattling hip-hop and stroboscopic synths. In 2018, he created yet another alias, ELAX, releasing the project's first 12" on Solomun's Diynamic imprint. For this episode of Headphone Highlights, the versatile DJ and producer has picked a selection of timeless anthems and inspirational tunes.
