Although Alexis Georgopoulos has been involved in numerous musical undertakings over the years, it was his time with Tussle that first put him on the wider cultural radar. However, despite being one of the key architects of the San Francisco outfit’s jammy, electronic Krautrock hybrids, creative differences prompted Georgopoulos to split from the group, move to New York and work solo as Arp. Debuting on Smalltown Supersound in 2007 with the *In Light* LP, Georgopoulos shifted away from percussion-heavy sounds while embracing a more minimal approach. He also continued to dabble in other projects, including the disco-flavored and DFA-inked Q&A alongside Quinn Luke aka Bing Ji Ling and the housier Masks with Opal Tapes and L.I.E.S affiliate Patricia. Outside of making music, he’s often worked as a writer, and his thoughts on art, music and design have appeared in a wide variety of respected publications.
