After six wild weeks in Berlin for this year’s Red Bull Music Academy, First Floor host Shawn Reynaldo has returned home to his usual post in Barcelona. Matters of location aside, his goal remains the same: To provide a weekly snapshot of what’s happening in the world of electronic music. On this episode, he highlights all of the week’s best new electronic releases and exclusively premieres a track from _Themes_, the upcoming album on ESP Institute by veteran German producer Roman Flügel. Also joining the program is Peaking Lights, a married couple from Los Angeles who’ve spent the last decade blurring the lines between electronic music, psychedelic noise and lo-fi pop. With the duo’s latest EP, _Sea of Sand_, surfacing this week, they talk about life in Southern California, the “lo-fi” aspect of their sound and how they wound up releasing their new record on Dekmantel.
