Mike Simonetti has been immersed in electronic music for the better part of three decades, most notably as the man behind adventurous labels like Troubleman Unlimited and Italians Do It Better. These days he has a hand in the 2MR imprint, and with a new 12” surfacing this week, he details the label’s genesis, discusses its musical vision and outlines what we can expect from his collaborative Pale Blue project. Also appearing is young producer Jim-E Stack, who talks about his move to Los Angeles, his new EP and his decision to pivot away from making music explicitly for the club. Elsewhere, host Shawn Reynaldo surveys the week’s best new electronic releases and premieres a track from the upcoming Kutmah album on Big Dada.
