A key member of the Academy radio team, *Shawn Reynaldo* has been involved in various aspects of the music world for more than 15 years. A Bay Area native, he got involved with radio at a young age, both at UC Berkeley’s KALX (where he would eventually serve as the station’s operations manager), and at San Francisco’s Live 105. Still, he’s probably best known for his more recent work as a music journalist; following a lengthy stint as the editor of XLR8R, he’s now based in Barcelona, where he regularly pens articles for the likes of Resident Advisor, RBMA, SPIN and a variety of other outlets. Along the way, he’s also launched a few record labels (Double Negative, Bersa Discos, Icee Hot), run some groundbreaking parties (Tormenta Tropical, Icee Hot) and logged plenty of time in DJ booths (and on dancefloors) around the globe.
