Recent years have seen the grime scene undergo something of a reinvention, and London producer Mr. Mitch has played a major role in that change. Both through his genre-expanding productions and his role as a co-founder of Boxed, the London club night which has become the primary hub for grime’s latest wave, he’s helped take the music beyond its original orthodoxy. With the Planet Mu label releasing *Devout*, his second album, this week, Mr. Mitch discusses the LP’s highly personal subject matter, his relationship with modern pop sounds and what it was like to occasionally grab the mic while putting together the record. Also joining the show is Joe Goddard, the multifaceted UK producer who’s also a member of groups like Hot Chip and The 2 Bears. Taking a break from those pursuits, he talks about his new solo LP, *Electric Lines*, and how it represents both his love of gear and his long-running love affair with various strains of electronic music.
