Although we do our best to highlight the best new electronic music from around the globe, there’s no denying that a disproportionate percentage of the tracks we play here on First Floor come from places like Berlin, London and New York. Nevertheless, while cities outside the established electronic music hubs rarely get their due, it’s clear that these locales are brimming with talent. Tbilisi is one such case: Although the Georgian capital has been increasingly recognized for its club scene in recent years (thanks in large part to nightspots like Bassiani), the city’s producers and DJs are still making their way onto our collective radars. One such artist, Gacha Bakradze, has something of a head start on his peers, as he’s been releasing music on labels like Apollo, Lapsus and Cin Cin since 2012. Next week he’ll drop a new EP called _Monument_ on Fever AM, the rising imprint headed up by Mor Elian and Rhyw.
