With the halfway point of this year’s Red Bull Music Academy rapidly approaching, First Floor continues its deep dive into the German capital and its fertile electronic music scene. Although host Shawn Reynaldo will be highlighting the best new electronic music releases from around the world, his in-studio guests are a couple of Berlin’s finest talents: Up first is Courtesy, an artist who first made her name spinning high-speed techno in Copenhagen. Although she’s since relocated to Berlin, she still represents for her hometown, and here she’ll be talking about her new Kulør label and its first release, a compilation showcasing many of Copenhagen’s up-and-coming artists. Also stopping in for an interview is Ancient Methods, a German producer who’s been responsible for more than a decade of noise- and industrial-infused techno releases. With his new album, _The Jericho Records_, set to arrive this week, he speaks about his aesthetic and why he usually prefers to stay in the shadows.
