With the Red Bull Music Festival New York currently in the midst of its annual takeover of the Big Apple, here on First Floor we’ve been making an effort to highlight many of the city’s brightest electronic talents. This week the spotlight falls on Bergsonist, a prolific, Moroccan-born artist whose techno creations reflect her unique worldview. She speaks here about her time in NYC and how the city impacts her art, and how that balances with the lingering influence of her homeland. Also joining the program is Mary Lattimore, a veteran harpist and relatively recent arrival in Los Angeles, who discusses the novelty of her chosen instrument, her history with electronic music (or lack thereof) and her relationship with Ghostly International, which is set to to release her new album, _Hundreds of Days_. Otherwise, host Shawn Reynaldo observes his usual routine, highlighting all of the week’s best new electronic releases.
