Zed Bias has always been good at sussing things out, fast. Coming of age in the Midlands and a fan of soundsystem culture, Dave Jones became Zed Bias through a love of soul, jazz and rare groove, and a desire to create dancefloor music with heart. He’s regarded as one of the true innovators of UK garage — his releases helped draw the blueprint for early dubstep, and his many side projects tap into an ever-evolving UK electronic zeitgeist, from Maddslinky to Phuturistix. A keen remixer, he’s worked his magic on everyone from Whitney Houston to the Streets, collaborated with the likes of Miss Dynamite and Amy Winehouse and produced chart hits such as the 2-step garage classic, “Neighbourhood.” Stepping away from the decks in 2013, Jones went back to his roots, built a studio from scratch in his longtime home of Manchester and returned in 2017 with his album for Exit Records, *Different Response*.
