Valgeir Sigurðsson grew up in a small Icelandic village, where he dreamed of otherworldly sounds. After studying at London’s SAE Institute, he began his career as a composer and producer. He’s released three solo albums (2007’s _Ekvílibríum_, 2010’s _Draumalandið_, 2013’s _Architecture of Loss_, and 2017's _Dissonance_), founded his own label, Bedroom Community, and a recording hub in Reykjavík, Greenhouse Studios. Working largely within the realm of neo-classical music, pairing acoustic instrumentation with contemporary electronics, he operates across disciplines — he's composed classical scores for the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and City of London Sinfonia; written his own opera, _Wide Slumber for Lepidopterists_; and created soundtracks for film and TV. He’s perhaps best known for producing and engineering the soundtrack for Lars von Trier’s film _Dancer in the Dark_, and working on several of Björk’s albums.
