The British DJ, producer, radio host and art director Trevor Jackson operates like an explorer. Starting out in UK hip-hop with groups like the Brotherhood on his Bite It! platform, Jackson remixed artists such as U2 and Massive Attack under his Underdog alias, gave ’80s music a cosmetic overhaul with his Playgroup project and turned his Output label into an underground success story. With a catalog of hundreds of releases, Jackson merged the approach of dance music with the dynamics of indie bands and burgeoning visual art technologies. In the ’00s, he exhibited work at festivals and art institutions, and continues to design the artwork for the artists he engineers, produces and remixes. In the past few years, he has also devoted time to curating highly regarded specialist compilations, such as _Industrial Dancehall_ and _Metal Dance_. In late 2017, Jackson established two new labels: Pre- and Post-, dedicated to music created or produced by the man himself.
