House music DJ and producer Ron Trent may have travelled all over the world in his near-30-year career, but the city of Chicago is always with him. The spiritual home of house music, Chicago is an inspiration for artists deep in its own neighborhoods as well as for those scattered worldwide. Ron Trent has released dozens of singles, EPs, collaborative works and three solo albums of his own productions since the early ’90s, running his own labels (Prescription, Future Vision, Electric Blue, Music And Power) and club nights (including Giant Step at Shine) in a mission to help house music grow roots across the globe. In this Fireside Chat, the Chicago originator shares his story from early beginnings to present projects.
