When RHYE formed as a duo, they were based in California and comprised of Danish songwriter and instrumentalist Robin Hannibal and Canadian singer and producer Mike Milosh. Before RHYE, Hannibal channeled the funky side of Sade with singer Coco O. as Quadron, mixed modern abstraction with a fervently human sound on his solo release _Bobby_ and collaborated with Pharrell and Kendrick Lamar. Milosh started out as a classically trained cellist, drummer and vocalist with a knack for futuristic instrumentals, on labels like Plug Research, Ghostly International and !K7. In forming RHYE, the duo embarked on a sophisticated sonic quest toward the feminine mystique, with Milosh exploring his penchant for melancholic pop songwriting. Their 2013 debut album, _Woman_, is driven by Milosh’s trademark falsetto and Hannibal’s cinematic production. In the years since, Milosh has taken RHYE forward as a solo project, releasing the 2018 album _Blood_ to much acclaim.
