German-born musician and composer Max Richter is considered one of the most prolific artists working in contemporary classical today. He graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in London, and trained in Italy soon after; with a focus on experimental minimalism and electronics, Richter has released over a dozen albums, composed scores for film and television (most recently Charlie Brooker’s TV series *Black Mirror* and Denis Villeneuve’s science fiction film *Arrival*), collaborated with sound and performance artists and created music for more traditional art forms like opera and ballet. He’s perhaps best known for the 10 years he spent with the ensemble Piano Circus, and for his work with Roni Size and Future Sound of London.
