As a kid in the South American nation of Guyana, Neil Joseph Stephen Fraser, AKA Mad Professor, fell in love with all things electronic. After building his first radios from scratch, he caught the music bug and earned his nickname. At age 13, Fraser relocated to London, where he started collecting recording gear and studio devices for his first studio space, Ariwa Studios, in Thornton Heath. Many years and a move to Peckham later, Ariwa had grown into one of the premier addresses for dub, roots and lovers rock recordings.
