Rock and blues guitarist Junior Marvin is best known as a key member of the Wailers, the band that propelled Bob Marley to global stardom. After joining the reggae circuit through Island Records boss Chris Blackwell, Marvin joined the Wailers in the mid-‘70s and played lead guitar on 1977’s *Exodus*, often regarded as one of the best albums of the 20th century. Marvin’s style became integral to the Wailers sound – after Marley’s death, Marvin continued to make music with the band as a guitarist and producer until 1997. Marvin has collaborated with dozens of artists over the past 40-odd years, including session work with Burning Spear, Toots & the Maytals, Don Carlos, Steve Winwood and Lenny Kravitz. In the late ’00s he started to release solo albums, and in 2014 formed a new group, Junior Marvin’s Force One. Marvin tells his fascinating life story, from growing up in England to his experiences in the music industry and becoming part of the legend of Jamaican music.
