"Peggy where you been at?" 2018 was a breakout year for adventurous MC and producer JPEGMAFIA. He was born in New York before relocating to Alabama, where he enrolled in the Army — his time in the military brought him to Germany and Tokyo, but when it was time to return to the States, he chose to settle in Baltimore because he felt the local scene there would match his musical sensibilities. Although he’s now living in LA, JPEGMAFIA still calls Baltimore the only home he’s ever had. (Just listen to the intro of his year-end-list-topping album _Veteran_ for an ode to Baltimore’s Bell Foundry, a local hangout.) With razor-sharp delivery, uncompromisingly caustic lyrics (plus a mean song-title game) and production that is experimental but just accessible enough, JPEGMAFIA has proven that he‘s more than just the most agitated live show in underground rap.
