When he was 18 years old, Delroy Edwards moved from his native Los Angeles to New York City, and began working in the A1 record shop alongside L.I.E.S. label boss Ron Morelli. His tastes navigated the murkier territories of techno, house, dark garage, chopped ‘n’ screwed hip-hop and industrial electronics; his DJ style is characterized by a rough and ready thump. As a producer, he’s best known for his work on L.I.E.S and his own label, L.A. Club Resource, which he started in 2014. Now based in LA again, Edwards has released several full-length records, including three volumes of his _Slowed Down Funk_ series. In 2018 he has released two albums, _Rio Grande_, on L.A. Club Resource, and _Aftershock_, on L.I.E.S. In this Fireside Chat, he discusses his musical upbringing, playing Berlin's Panorama Bar for the first time and his experience of filtering anger into action.
