Craig Leon is an American musician, conductor, composer and producer whose work has become increasingly concerned with finding a sonic space between Earth and outer space. Starting out in the early '70s as a producer and A&R for Sire Records, he helped shape the sound of bands like Suicide, the Ramones, Talking Heads and Blondie. For the last 30 years, he's worked within modern classical and experimental electronic synthesis, composing for orchestras and ensembles and working with vocalists like his long-term partner Cassell Webb. Nearly 40 years after releasing his first two albums, 1981's _Nommos_ and 1982's _Visiting_, Leon returns in 2019 with a solo full-length electronic album, _Anthology of Interplanetary Folk Vol 2: The Canon_, for Rvng Intl. Inspired by ancient mythologies and religions, outer space and imagined alien beings, in this Fireside Chat Leon talks about creating ambient music with and for a vivid imagination.
