The “bedroom coder revolution” that swept the British Isles by the middle of the ‘80s offered many young British kids an escape from a somewhat bleak reality, and in video game music, Tim found his calling. He started composing music on the ZX Spectrum’s infamous 1k “beeper” at the age of 14. Wrestling with some of the era’s most limited and monochromatic capabilities to produce soundtracks that were drenched in technicolor, Tim embarked on a journey of sonic experimentation that resulted in his arpeggio-heavy soundtracks being some of the most lauded in the history of video game music.
