Since the beginning of the project, Diggin’ in the Carts has focused on the artists who shaped the early eras of video game music history. But in this episode of Diggin’ in the Carts Season 3, Nick Dwyer sits down with German composer C418, whose work has gone on to become one of the biggest gaming phenomenons of the 21st century and is the second highest-selling game of all time: a little indie title called Minecraft. Working with his own set of unique limitations, he crafted a soundtrack full of lush ambience and melancholy that played a role in the game’s success. Here, C418 (real name Daniel Rosenfeld) guides Nick through the influences of the indie game world that played a part in informing his music direction.
