Since its establishment in 2005, Sweat Records has weathered three moves, two robberies and one hurricane to become a central hub of Miami's scrappy, vibrant music scene. With their turquoise-painted record store, coffee shop and events space, co-founder Lauren "Lolo" Reskin and managing partner and music buyer Emile Milgrim have cultivated a community that welcomes both hardcore music nerds and listeners who have never set needle to vinyl. On this episode of Counter Intelligence, the high school friends share LPs they love introducing to visitors, reminisce about growing up in the Florida suburbs and explain how Iggy Pop's musical curiosity keeps him relevant.
