When mobilegirl steps up to the decks, there’s little point in trying to predict what cacophonous beats might blast out of the soundsystem. The Munich-born, Berlin-based producer and DJ is an adventurous remixer and selector, creating high-octane blends that dissolve R&B and pop vocal harmonies into heavyweight nu-metal riffs, melodramatic trance and Afro-Caribbean diasporic riddims. It’s a highly stylized outlook on contemporary underground club sounds, one that finds her at home with the young Swedish collective Staycore, who she has remixed and produced music for since the crew formed in 2014. Her remix of Brandy’s “Angel in Disguise” on Staycore’s *Summer Jams 2K15* compilation, and the Missy Elliott-sampling track “GGC” smirk at the purists at the back of the club, leaving the forward-thinking kids to tear it up at the front.
