As part of our series on the DJs who have made a mark on the music scene in Texas, today we hear from Orión García. The Austin-based musician and label manager founded Peligrosa, a collective of Latinx DJs, producers and artists with a considerable focus on the music of Latin America, the Caribbean and parts of Africa and Europe. Discos Peligrosa, the record label started by García in 2015, further encapsulates his passion to advocate for underrepresented and emerging sounds, and García's interests in coding, illustration, design, animation and videography all intersect with his work in music. In his Choice Mix, Orión García presents his signature style of blending everything from salsa to dancehall and afrobeat.
