A true don of UK dance music culture, Grooverider started his DJ career playing rare groove and house at warehouse parties and raves in the late '80s, and on pirate radio stations like Phase One.
When Phase One’s owner opened an after-hours club, he booked Grooverider and fellow DJ Fabio, and so began a long and fruitful DJ partnership. With the rave scene becoming more commercial, Fabio and Grooverider took the hardcore sound in a new direction, upping the tempo, playing Detroit techno as well as ragga and dancehall-influenced tunes.
