Plasma Rüby is the main project of Carlos Agustín del Rio, an Argentinian sound artist whose work focuses on minimalism with styles like ambient, glitch and shoegaze. With numerous releases to date, Del Rio has collaborated and reworked tracks for modern classical luminaries such as Nils Frahm and Ólafur Arnaulds and fellow RBMA participants Haioka, Bienoise, Chelsea J and most recently the 2018 collaborative EP with German ambient artist Ext Sleep titled _O_ . Plasma Rüby's own music has a gauzy texture to it, using field recordings and carefully chosen spaces as compositional resources, each individual sound — the crackle and pop of a dusty record spinning long after its grooves have been worn down, bursts of post-rock guitar riffing, fragile and delicate piano is cared for.
