Norway’s Ole Petter Hergum is a man of many talents. As a member of Hubbabubbaklubb, he helped create the persona of Mopedbart, a languid post-disco monster which roughly translates as “peach fuzz mustache.” As a resident DJ at the club Jaeger in Oslo, Hergum also produces music as a solo artist under the name Olefonken, specialising in ’80s retro synth tunes, loose-limbed disco tunes and laid-back grooves. He’s released two records under this project – 2015’s Til Hanne EP, on Ille Bra Records, and 2016’s Quaaludes, on Snorkel Records, the latter described as a “three track thermal sound wave, indulged in deep sea nitrogen drunkenness.”
