Living in Bali, LADY FLiC spins beats that mimic the luscious ebbs and flows of tropical island life. In her role as music programmer at the beachside spot SugarSand, she’s brought future-facing jazz, disco, soul, hip-hop and funk to locals and travelers alike, booking artists like Benji B, Waajeed and Alexander Nut to control the beachside vibe. She arrived at SugarSand after many years of travel, playing at raves and on the radio in New Zealand, Australia and the UK. She attended the Dublin Academy in 2000 as a participant, and went on to explore Southeast Asia for underground sounds, eventually landing in Bali in 2008. She became a resident at Ku De Ta and Potato Head Beach Club, and then the latter’s music director and events manager. As well as DJing, LADY FLiC has produced new disco sounds and contributed vocals (as City Hayes), most recently on Red Rack’em’s _Self Portrait_ album.
