grassmass is a Brazilian DJ and producer who was a participant at the 2013 Academy in New York. In his home city of São Paulo, he runs UIVO Records, a crew of producers and musicians that’s ever-expanding with newcomers and regional heroes alike; grassmass teamed up recently with Ivan Conti "Mamão", the drummer of funk legends Azymuth, to collaborate and release new music. Forthcoming records from the UIVO camp include a synth tribute to Moacir Santos’s 1965 album _Coisas_, and a dark electro EP written in the weeks before the 2018 Brazilian presidential election. In 2018, grassmass also released _El Pescador_, a collaboration with cumbia artist Totó la Momposina.
